INTERVIEW

Tuesday, December 08, 2009
To get my visa to UK, I went to Marseille, France. Dun kasi ang nearest consulate ng UK to get a visa for residents living in Cote d'Azur.
My appointment was at Ten thirty. I left Nice at seven am to get that appointment in time.
Two hours ride din yun!

Ten o clock na, traffic. Then I try to find the appointment slip, I left it a home!!!
I forgot the address.
I called Lolo, he 's out of the house.
The kababayan called his son to check in the internet, and the son called back , 24 Ave Prado. We went to the address, it is the UK Embassy but the lady said; our appointment is not at number 24 Prado but at 165 Prado!

Layo. Buti hindi naman kami na ka heels. We saw a kababayan, asked him number 165, he doesnt know! Sus, wag na nga! Sa iba na lang. We went inside the car and drove a bit slowly...we marked the street numbers, 197... 193... 191...

We stopped at 179 but the next street number is 155!
Nasaan yung 165?We went back, nothing.
We went forward, nothing.
The weather is cold 12°.
Usok bibig, sige hanap...

We asked. The lady at the door said, it is here, this building.
Ngek, katapat na pala namin!Between 179 and 155! see photo below.

We went inside and asked the concierge, he said, 8th floor.
At 8th floor, it is like a reception check in, they check the lists of appointment, our names are there, told me to go down first at 7th floor for interview.
Reklamo na naman ako,why not hindi in one floor na lang!!!!At seventh floor,I met the lady in blonde hair (i think (wink)it is false blonde, lol)

She told me to sit down.

-Application papers please.(I gave it to her)
-Passport? Carte de Sejour? All original docs? (sige bigay ko, why cant she take them all instead, iniisa isa pa eh!)
After reviewing them all, she asked, where do you stay in London?
I told her a hotel name.
-Do you travel with husband?
-Yes.

-Your payslips are only two ...

-I just started work last October, the third payslip will be end of December...

She checked again all photocopies...Type in her PC, while I looked around.

Inside the room have two office tables, with two interviewers ,me and another applicant. My antenna was stretching, listening to the next table....They spoke in english.Hmmmn mukhang hindi papasa, me kulang daw papeles niya, wawa naman.

My interviewer distracted me,I was back to my world;

-Where is your confirmed hotel booking?
-I didnt confirm anything , as I dont have the visa yet, but I have the infos of the booking already by internet.
She went again to her computer. I looked around again.Took long, 5mins no speaking. She reading my files...

-Am I done? May be Im finished....
-Not yet. We will get your fingerprints in this machine in front, both hands.
Ah okMe ganun na pala ngayun???

Then see that camera next to you, I will get a photo of yours to match in your application files.
-Ok.( ngek, ganun ka ek ek na pala?)super higpit ah, while she was interviewing me, naka video ako!!!!
--Ok.
Click....

She put all documents and passports in the brown envelope, sealed it with security seal and told me to send them by post office speed mail to Paris visa processing. She reminded me not to open it.

Ngek, ako pa mag me mail neto, dapat sila na!!!

It was finished, less than thirty minutes;
I went out, to go to the post office and the mailing costs me 43€!!!!!
Include na kasi yung pag mail back ng mga original docs ko with passport and visa(if ok)
I waited for my co filipinos while munching a baon of sandwich and bottled water. There was a market nearby, and wanted to by those fresh fish, but thinking about it, inside the car, it would be stinking fishy going back to Nice!
haha!
Et voila.(So yan na)
In two weeks,I will receive the results, if ok ang visa, I grab that plane to London.
Despite na mas malamig dun, Im sure the warm welcome of the people of London will cheer me up.Anim ata kapamilya ko dun!

Puntahan ko ulit yung Harods, yung British Museum, yung Buckingham Palace (i will take a photo of the guard in black flurry hat, and yes,the Picadilly Square...Trafalgar square...

Baka me nabago na since 2007;

And oh, my sisters in UK told me, they will book a MUSICAL MAMA MIA concert for all of us to see...

Hope may red carpet ako from the filipino community in UK...
Wink.

I am confident that you'll get your visa approval soon and we'll be welcomed by the Pinoy community as you walk in the red carpet.

God bless you.

Life is Beautiful, count your blessings.
Oo malamig nga dito, nakakainis

When we do have a common time, we should meet up somewhere warm. Sa Nat History Museuem or Science Museum kaya? hehe

Dami mo palang kapamilya dito.
May nakalimutan kang banggitin. How about the Oxford Street for shopping? Miss ko na rin UK :(
