Francesca in France

She took an appointment for interview last June 7,2008 via email.Three weeks before her attestation d'accueil(proof of accomodation in france) expires.

Her letter said:
Dear Mr (name of consul),

Bonjour.
I am Ms Lorraine (full name). I am a business woman. My Philippine passport no is------ issued in---------- and expires on------------
I live in ------- City.I would like to have an appointment on June 17,2008 at 8 am, if it is possible to apply for a tourist visa to visit Nice France.My planned departure is on July 19 and will be back on Aug 29,2008.

Thank you for accomodating me on the date mentioned above.Please send me a confirmation via my email add at ----- pldt dsl.net or call my business office at

After two days, the embassy personnel called her via telephone and told her, her appointment is confirmed. He then asked her purpose of going to France. Lorraine answered: to visit my family.He said: confirmed appointment ka na ha, we dont need to answer you via email, okey?

The day arrived.June 17,2008
Lorrained prepared one folder of photocopies of requirements taken from HERE
and in another folder, all original copies.
Kilo kilos of papers...Mama mia...

They were ten at the visa applicants's room. She was called, and she gave all her documents at the window.
She was told to sit down.
After 5minutes, she was called back.

- Miss V----,The photocopies of your bank statements are not clear. Also the Business Liscence of year 2003. You go down to the ground floor and make one copy each.
-Okey.
-Also, I need a copy of your Mom and Dad's annuled marriage contract.
-When do you need it?
-When you come back for the result of your application on July 15.
-Ok
-Where and when did your mom marry the French national?
- Quezon City August 2004 ,Sir.
(He typed the infos in the computer and look at the screen reading something)
-What are the names of your siblings that are now in France?
- Anjo ----- and Anna ------.
(He typed again the infos in his computer, Lorraine guessed that he have all infos about us!)

-Okey, thats all. Go down for the photocopies, bring them back after, then come back on July 15-- for the result.You dont need to call. We will call you. Your visa fee is 4,140 pesos.
(He stamped Lorraine's passport, the date and the french embassy)

Lorraine went home, still in limbo, wondering if she made it or not.
I assured her,via yahoo messenger, that her papers are complete, so she dont need to worry.
Her cover letter and Michel's financial support certificate was made by a lawyer, HERE Atty Pulido.
Everything were done in honest intentions. She noted in her cover letter, that she will be back to Philippines.
Et voila. Lets see.
