Voleur in french, meaning, magnanakaw.
Thats our topic for today.
In Monaco, the security is ALWAYS too tight. There are cameras all over the place including elevators.
Last Grand Prix de Monaco, there were lots of tourists(and robbers) but Police Monaco were all alert. In every corners and roads they posted security police and French Gendarmeries (Police force)helped secured the area.
Monday, I was working in my Boss' place, Butler was cleaning the Bentley car in the garage, while our Boss was reading his newspaper in his room. I was in my "office"(laundry area) when a panting (from running) 35 years old man run to me and told me (in french language): "dont scream, shhh, dont be afraid, I will not hurt you."
I was shock, he was all sweating and he even took a bottle of St Yorke mineral water of the Boss from the fridge!
I told him: "No, you dont stay inside the house, my Boss is in here, he got a gun! You better get out!
The man asked : "where is the way, I go,but dont scream, dont panic, dont worry, i will not hurt you."
I was trembling, if he got a knife, I'm dead!
He went to the office of my Boss,bump himself to the mirror, open the door and ran to the garden. I followed him to make sure, he would not take anything!
Ow, my Boss house' furnitures costs my few months salary!!!
The man jump to the fence of the garden, and I lost sight of him.
I run to the garage, in panic,called Butler: "Butler, there's a man inside the house, now he was out!"
Butler said: "What?! I dont understand you!"
"There's a man, he went inside the house, and run away to the garden, quick!"
Butler went inside the house and he saw Monaco Security personnels in the garden,with radio, looking for someone.
Butler called the Monaco Security Police(dealing with alarms security,in case it brrrnnng) and Butler asked him if he was looking for someone.
The security police said: "Yes, a man in white tshirt."
I screamed: "There he is, Monsieur Agent, in the bushes of the garden, there, there!!!
Our Boss went our of his room, asking: "whats going on???!"
The security Police said: Someone entered your house, sir, seen on camera, so we followed him, and he is in your garden!"
The Boss asked me and Butler: "Why you both didnt knock me in my room???!!"
We didnt answer.
Eventually, a police car arrived, with four Policemen and took position,told the man to hold on, or we shoot you.
The robber get down on his stomach, in the grass of the garden and Police asked me: "Is he the one that entered the house?"
"Yes, Sir."
The police dumped him inside the police car, asked the Boss if anyhting had been stolen, and I answered: nothing.
The Policeman took the Boss' name and phone number, in case they find something against the man, they would invite me as a witness.
Blimey!
Butler told me with excitement and pride: Tomorrow, you will be in the news. I will watch you in Monaco tv channel, with a photo: he's there, there..!

buti na lng walang ginawa sa yo ung holdaper kakatakot talaga ung ganyan sa pinas one time pauwi ako galing school nakasakay ako sa jeep tpos sa tapat ko tinutukan ung student ng kutsilyo tapos kinukuha ung cp nya kaso ung studyante ayaw ibigay urong cya ng urong hanggang mapunta sa malapit sa driver tpos dun sa gitna sa harapan dumaan ung estudyante then bumaba ng jeep nung ng stop buti na lng araming tao so hndi na sinundan ung studyante pero takot lahat kami nakasakay ng jeep so pagdating ng jeep sa isa pang gate ng ust bumaba ako nilakad ko na lng hanggang dun sa isa pang sakayan
Yung nangyari pala don, galing si magnanakaw sa kabilang bakod, pinasok niya ang isang villa na walang nakatira, eh gamit ang screwdriver to open the glass window,eh naka alarm!
Nong nag alarm, nagpanic siya, talon sa kabilang bakod, sa garden ng Boss ko and balak magtago, kasi andyan na mga security police!Pasok siya sa kusina ni butler, kasi bukas lang yun lagi,kuha inumin sa fridge ng sir ko and punta sa sa likuran sa "office" ko!
eh,shock ako, pero tulak ko siya palabas, sabi ko: "get out! sortie toute suite! my Boss got a gun! Mon employeur la, avec un pistolet! bang bang!pistolet!

ni hindi ko nga alam pa magna pala siya, kala ko naligaw lang na guest ng kapitbahay, at nalito baga!

Did you know that a "pistolet" is a bread here in Holland? I had to chuckle a bit as I can visualize your boss with a pistolet bread as a gun in his hand, lol.
When I was reading your post, I was trying to imagine you with the magna. Fear and all. I got scared for you. I'm glad that the robber didn't hurt you for seeing his face.
It's a good thing that the alarm of the neighbor went off! When I read your reply at the comments, I was falling off my seat laughing at how you made a scary experience sound funny. Comedy ka talaga Ate Amy. It's good to know your are safe!

That scared me big time! Good to know that you're safe though, it could have been worse! Hope it won't happen again. Anyway, leaving tomorrow (Tuesday) for our 21-day France/Italy trip. Starting with Paris (7 days), Nice/Monaco(3 days), Florence(3 days), Venice(3 days)and Rome (5 days. We're taking the train to Nice on early Monday (July 9th),pick up a car rental at the same station, and head to Mariott Cap d'ail. We'll be driving around Monaco/Nice/Cannes/Eze and the surrounds for 3 days. Your sugestions earlier were very helpful. We made lunch reservation at Chateau Eza which we are very excited about. I forgot to ask you though about Nice restaurants where locals go to dine. Our trip is also a gastronomical one and we don't like tourist traps. French and Italian, amazing food!..Anyway, all the best and you take care yourself. To France and Italy-HERE WE COME!!!

Oi, thank you sa pagalala. And comedy nga ang dating isntead matakot ako, haha. Baka kasi naka program na sa utak ko na I am in Monaco and not in Baghdad, kaya di ako na takot. But then, when everything were back to normal, saka ko na realise: pano kaya yun if may kutsilyo or baril di dedo na ako? wawa naman Lolo, mabyudo agad, eh, mag 3years married pa lang kami?!

If you can stop at restorants in Menton, near the beach, or in Cap d'ail La Mala beach restorants, they are good and the ambiance is really feel na feel.
Ask direction from marriott, they know it. If you got time of course.
In Nice, dine in Cour Saleya, its a dining with class in the streets near the beach area. Waiters in tuxedos are waiting for tourists until midnight!May shows pa yan during weekends.
ah, basta, you will see.Nice and Monaco areas , both, are paradise to experience. And Cannes!!!
