What's your dream for your kids when they grow up?

My son, he is 16, is graduating this year in high school, Philippines)
Soon to come to France to annoy Mama!
I asked him what he plan to be when he goes to university?
He said, he wants to be a nurse, then take masters to be a doctor.
I said, thats too ambitious! I cant afford that for your schooling, especially university in France!
He said, he can continue to study in Philippines, he dont need to go to France.
Of course, I said. You dont want to leave your friends, you prefer them than life in France.
And Mama.
Especially.Mama is not important...( me goes to dramatic crying, hehe)
He said, maybe there are free universities in France for his desired course.(Okey he is willing to compromise, nice son... eh?)
I said: Why be a doctor?! Why not an OB Gynocologist, it is more interesting, you can watch bottoms anytime.
He looked at me like "I came from the outer space...
Okey, I am joking to my son, but he is serious about going to Medicine!
How much it cost me! waaahhh!
I even discussed with him, he will be buying a dead body to examine!
He didnt bother, just shrugged!
I like him to be an engineer. But, he is the one studying not me.
Mind you, when here, he might change mind.
He might scrub floors like Mama, easy responsibility, easy money...
Isnt it? He he...

Sooner or later, he will find another mama whether you like it or not. LOL LOL Just the thought of it gives me jitters.
Beryl earlier said she wants to be a lawyer. Then recently, clothing design na naman ang gusto. Eh, di sa Pinas mag-school ano! Ang mahal dito! As of the moment, Chrys still sticks to her "ballerina" dream, no change of mind pa. Well, I still have a long, long way with these girls. I'll just treasure the times that they're still next to me now. You know, time flies!
Pero, yung big boy mo, serious yan ha! By now alam na talaga nya gusto nya.
Naturalmente, susuporta na lang si maternel joli!

With my daughter , since she is sooo good in arguing & making excuses , I think she'll be a good lawyer...hehehhehe ngayun pa lang pag iipunan ko na. My boy, wala pa akong nakikita but a doctor is not a bad idea but I think I would want him to be a pilot.....para makalibre naman ng ticket paminsan-minsan :D

An OB-GYN has to go through the basic medical school just like the rest of the specialist doctors.
I think it's more practical to study medicine in the Philippines. We have good schools that make good doctors. If he wants to specialize on a field then he can go outside the Philippines.
Of course, you as his mother would want him to be with you in France but deciding a lifetime path is up to your son.
My daughter is 3 years old and whatever she chooses to study in college is for her to decide when the time comes. I want her to live a happy life. That's all that matters to me.

hey, most public universities in france are free (or you just have to pay a meager amount for the administrative ekek), and mind you, kulang na sila ng medical stuffs so i guess your bunso is heading to a really bright future here in europe. go for it lola.

hi francesca, my parents can attest to the fact that having a child in medical school --- as long as the child is determined and focused --- pays off. There are lots of jobs for them and it's nice if you could encourage your son towards his passion! Grabe, I'm thinking mahirap talaga maging ina...
Anyway like analyse said, there are lots of free universities here in france, so it could be interesting for him.
But yeah, I think you should encourage your son first to take French lessons in Manila before he comes here, so he can easily adjust and start his studies the soonest.

Oy, thanks sa mga encouragements nyo sa lola ha? You know why, i am not up to his desires to be when in University, kasi mama niya, hindi naman nag college, pero okey naman buhay, LOL
Then sino lang makikinabang, maging manugang koh! di ba unfair? (cry)Ibigay sa akin, apo! Nasaan ang investments koh, waaah!
He had 30 hours basic french last bakasyon nila. Pero not complete, kasi ang turo eh: felicitations, numbers, mga how are you, mga daily used verbs,ewan ko sa iba.
Kaya for him to take really french is to have it ala from grade one to up.
Dito sa Nice, they offer free lessons, everyday, sa OMI (office migrations international) kaya bago siya mang busisi ng mga patay, two years muna siya mag master ng language.
Of course, I didnt tell him that, baka umurong, ayaw na pumunta rito, hehe.
Hindi sila eskayted to go to France, hindi naman ako masungit!
Okey naman sila with Michel.
Hirap kalaban mga kaibigan nila!
