State of denial when boarding your flightl?

Its official!
Airlines- even low fare airlines- have to pay you if you are delayed or denied boarding. The new rules cover passengers flying within the European Union or to and fro from an EU Airport on an EU airline.

Passengers who are bumped(denied boarding despite solid confirmed booking)or whose flights are cancelled can claim compensation of 250 euros (17,500 pesos) for short flights , and up to 600 euros for long flights.
They can also get a ticket refund, two telephone calls, meals and hotels.

Delayed passengers are entitled for meals and phone calls for delays longer than 5hours, they can get their money back , as well as free overnight hotel.

Lets just hope this generous compensation doesnt backfire and lead to higher rates.
